Basket: winnowing basket. Tear drop shaped, brown. Body material not known, rattan frame. Damaged. Used to winnow rice or other materials. To separate different grades of pounded flour. Made by aboriginal tribe, Sakai? Bought in local markets and used by women. Some “niru” are also made locally by women only, but the better quality specimens are purchased and said to be made by an “orang asli” tribe. Cost in U.S. dollars: 1.25. Length 71.5 cm. Width at widest 50 cm.
