Description:
Twined, bowl shape. Tag says "Klamath (crossed out) 7-1935, Klamath River (crossed out)" On opposite side "NE California type". Metal tag has "23" embossed on it. Per Ralph Shanks: Used basket. Conifer root weft, red dyed Woodwardia and beargrass designs. Warp sticks crossed at rim and then wrapped with beargrass. Interior reinforcing rod at base. Twining is three strand twining at starting knot and edge of base, rest of twining is plain twining. Possibly Wintu based on the extensive use of red dyed Woodwardia.
