- Description:
- Coiled, bottleneck. Tag: "Mission Type". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled globular basket with a constricted neck. The foundation is deergrass bundle. The wefts are juncus, both natural tan, orange, and black dyed. The designs include a radiating stepped pattern on the base, three leaves on the side and three sets of five stacked triangles. There are three undecorated coils at the rim. The basket has a rightward work direction and an exterior workface, with bound under weft fag ends. The wefts are small and closely spaced. The basket has a plain wrapped rim with a tapered coil ending. Southwestern California, possibly Cahuilla.
