Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled basket bowl with slightly flaring vertical sides. Not used. The coil foundation is deergrass bundle. The background wefts are sumac and the design wefts are primarily black dyed with some orange juncus. The primary design is a diamondback rattlesnake, at the bottom are three geometric designs, other animals on the sides include a goat, a rabbit, a bird, and a lion. The basket has an exterior workface with clipped weft fag ends and a rightward work direction. The rim is plain wrapped with a slightly tapered coil end. Due to the design layout and the use of clipped fag ends this basket can be attributed to the Cahuilla. There is a hair woven into the side.
