Description:
girth strap, mahgoobeh. Goat hair. Al Jouf, 1985, but probably made in 1960s. It begins with a 5" loop wrapped in camel hair yarn, then becomes a 10" long 4-strand flat braids opening to a 2" wide flat painted piece 6'5" long and loose in the middle. 21" of round braid follows with a final 5" flat braid again. 6" of double-plied ends, tattered tassels, 10'4"?. Finger weaving: safeefeh. Finger weaving: thofar. Rope: Jadayil. Tassel: mahbouk. Condition: worn.
