- Description:
- China. Bowl, porcelain; octagonal and footed. Thick, heavy walls, slightly curved, flared out sides, foot flares out. Opaque turquoise glaze interior, and base. Exterior enamel decoration: blue jui scepter-heads-band on thick opaque yellow near rim. Below: an emblem of the eight immortals on each of the eight sides in various colors amid fillets and leaf scrollwork on white ground. Multi-colored geometric band on base of bowl, blue curl-work band on foot. Gold on rim. Iron-red reserve seal mark on base of T'ung Chih reign (1862-1874). Surface of interior glaze very scratched, many stains. Height 8.7 centimeters, maximum diameter 21.4.
