Description:
4 X 5" Black and white negative of a person riding an elephant. The elephant carries a giant log. Island of Ceylon. Hoefler's original description: "Island of Ceylon. The elephants in Ceylon are wise and lovable beasts. They work on the plantations and willingly perform any labor given them by their owners. This one was transporting logs for some building operations and patiently jogged along the road in the rain with his heavy burden, recalling the parable of the busy ant that "by dint of labor and by making many journeys, builded a great edifice."
