Coiled, globular. Tags "# 2 Mission Gift NTT" second tag "2 Lwy [spelling questionable] Mission". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled globular basket. Deergrass bundle foundation. Orange juncus background wefts with black dyed juncus and sumac designs. The design is geometric zigzags/frets coming from the bottom. Exterior workface with a rightward work direction with primarily bound under weft fag ends with some clipped fag ends. The rim is plain wrapped and the coil ending is slightly tapered. There is a hair woven into basket. Based on the design, materials, and weft fag ends this basket is attributed to Cahuilla.
