Saddle blanket (horse blanket-carpet); two panels (duplicates) have orange field with large blue peony or tree lotus and other flowers growing from rock; lower edge is water or river pattern; “Kina” at top; varicolored wool pile; two panels separated by dark blue felted wool; red wool felt binding on edge; black cotton backing; width 1.31 meters, length 72 cm. For use with Englidsh-style saddle; according to dealer the orange field designates this a carpet for use by a Buddhist lama. Said to be ca. 40 years old.
