Accession number:
Acc.4054
Description:
Black and white negative of the rooftops in Kandy. Hoefler's original description: "Island of Ceylon. Scene taken from a hotel window in Kandy, during a rain storm. It rains a great deal of the time around Kandy, so much so that some sort of vegetation grows in every conceivable place. If you place your shoes in a closet for a week, they will sprout some rare or new plant! It must keep a house-wife busy preventing serious damage to clothing and linen during the wet season.
