Description:
4" x 5" Negative. Three indigenous people filling up water for Hoefler's expedition. Hoefler's original description: "At a water hole. Sometimes it requires many hours to collect enough water for the journey. At this remote spot the small spring ran very slowly. Without doubt we were the first white men to ever visit this spot far in the hills of Tanganyika, and here we found lion spoor all over the place. The black boy in center facing the camera was killed shortly after this was taken by a lion.
