4 X 5" black and white negative depicting man leading two camels pushing forth a cart. Hoefler's original description: "British India. Another view of the camel cart. Photo was taken at great risk to the cameraman who snapped this high speed conveyance as it roared along the road at one and a half miles per hour.. Notice the cushioned wheels and spring suspension and the sloping roof. The photographer rode a full hundred yards before he was jarred off. He afterwards described the carts as a 'preambulating vibrator.'" Verso: Prints Supplied To: General Motors Export Company.
