Black and white negative of ox carts traveling on a road. Hoefler's original description: "British India. An ox cart rests by the wayside. There are always lines of ox carts creaking slowly over the Indian landscape, and there are always clusters of ox carts resting at intervals along the highway. There seems to be no particular time for meals, either for the men or the animals, so the motorist is always passing those on the move and those that are resting. India is a picturesque country, affording many pleasing landscapes.
