China, Ching-te-chen attributed, Kiangsi province. Pitcher, porcelain, blue and white 'Nanking ware'. Short ovoid bowl shape, with wide straight flared out rim, with long 'guttered' pouring lip, ear shaped handle, short foot. River and temple landscape scene in underglaze blue wash and linear detail, on body, down to foot. Lozange-diaper pattern band on outer rim with lower 'spearhead' border. Band of same diaper pattern with three medallions containing emblems with fillets on inner rim. Peacock feather on handle. Chip in pouring lip, and rim. Height 7 centimeters, maximum diameter 14 centimeters.
