Old hemispherical coiled basket. Tag: "Yuki". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled flaring basket bowl, probably used for sifting or serving. The basket has food debris inside it. The start is coiled. The basket has a single rod coil foundation with splints. The wefts are redbud, peeled and unpeeled. The design is three diagonal zigzags. The rim is plain wrapped and the rim coil ending is blunt with eight back stitches. The weft fag ends are clipped and bound under. The moving ends are concealed with a few clipped. A little over half of the stitches are split on the back face. The basket has an exterior workface, the work direction is to the right, and the slant of weft twist is primarily down to the right.
