Description:
Coiled, globular. Tag "Mission Type". Per Ralph Shanks: Coiled globular basket bowl. Deergrass bundle foundation. Tan, orange, brown, and black dyed juncus wefts as well as some sumac. Designs include a flower on the bottom, on the side a band of six diamonds, and at the rim black dyed juncus rectangles. Exterior workface, with a rightward work direction, and bound under weft fag ends with some clipped fag ends. Plain wrapped rim in brown and black dyed juncus, with tapered coil ending. Southwestern California basket, possibly Cahuilla.
