Sacred buffalo dancer katsina (kachina); carved and painted wooden figure. Long, black, painted hair with feather decoration on head. Face painted half black (hairline to below nose) and half white (nose to neck). Body painted brown-yellow with white zigzags on chest, arms and legs, wears a white loin cloth with red/green/black design (cloud, warrior marks, etc.). Red boots with fringed anklets, black knee bands with tassels, turquoise armlets, silver/turquoise bracelet on left wrist, black tasseled band on right wrist. Olive green bandolier across chest. Carries a rattle in one hand and a thunder bolt in the other. A.L. Sahmie, carver.
