Description:
Wall hanging: Pair of panels are each L= 86.7 cm, W=35.5 cm wide, including a 7.6 cm wide border on all 4 sides. Central panel of both have 5-toed dragon of gold-warpped thread looking upward at flitting pearl of peace, with peonies, endless knots, bats and clouds above waves, water and rocks. Additional detail & shading drawn and painted on each central panel. Each center panel is bordered by a narrow red band, a narrow blue band and a 6cm wide border of patterned brocade fabric with repeating pattterns of medallions and bats. Narrow black band bias edging on all outer edges. Backed with olive green cloth. Panel (A) dragon faces left; panel (B) dragon faces right.

Conservation: (A) several areas of pulled threads in wave section & blue thread sewn through center border at top. Gold thread worn. (B) Damage in wave area near lower left corner. Repair w/ light blue thread in upper left corner. Gold threads worn/ Tears in wave area. Remains of a “stuck on” tag on the backing.
