Description: "14 3/8 in. x 1 5/8 in." "Quadrangular, round handle, hardwood." "1. "i`e kuku" finishing beater. One side has 8 "nao" (ridges) and another side has 9; these surfaces are called "pepehi". (See p. 171, Fig. 111-c.) One side has the surface partially destroyed; this side has 6 "halua" (grooves) with a superimposed design and is called "`upena halua pupu" (See p. 174, Fig. 114-c.) The remaining side has the same pattern with (probably) 14 "nao"; it is worn so that an accurate tally cannot be made. Beaters made by men (specialists) for use by women." Remarks: "1.
