Comment:
MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Backstrap-loomed with cotton yarns: singles in dark, blue (predominate), white, red and yellow. Weft in cotton singles and silk floss. CONTEXT OF USE: Masking tape affixed says "#17, $25.00". Iconography geometric and animal (birds?) motifs. Each row of suppl. weft brocading of a single motif, with a total of 5 rows. Outer most rows are a zigzag design while the center row is a chevron; these are separated by those done in a bird motif. Tassels are braided by individual colors, except for a single tassel where yellow and red braided together. See also 3-29633-35 CONSERVATION: Overall in good condition; no apparent holes or tears; some surface stains; suppl. weft wearing away in places and colors are fading.
