Description:
A "taravia" and short piece of maguey fibre cord spun on same. Specimen consists of 7.5 inch handle with nob on end, and a perforated fly weight thru which the handle passes. Fibre is tied to knotched end. Called "p'ats'op'al" in Zutuhil (apostrophes indicate aspirations) (from "p'ats', to twist). Called "atravia" in Spanish, metasthesized from the correct taravia. Made of canoj wood.
