Description:
Seat, single leg ("shooting stick"). Patinated dark reddish-brown wood. Seat incised with fine geometric designs including multiple Xs. 4 nails in center of seat (1 missing) attach it to leg. Seat has major crack and one side edge reattached at museum. Height is 59 centimeters. From West Africa, probably Nigeria. Context of use: native copy of Englishman's "shooting stick.
