Oval inlay missing, below face. Wood ‘pipe’ inlaid next to it. The face (b) carved separately, forms lid and is hinged by the cord. Carved from the blonde wood mouth is opened, glass eyes. Pipe holder (c) is a cylinder sheath with lid of carved wood. Incised decorartions. 1 side: dragon amid clouds, other side: simulated wood grain. Pipe (e) within of bamboo stem, and brass bowl and mouth piece. Ojime (f) mold formed lacquer bead with depiction of 2 men and building.
