Sword and scabbard. (a) Heavy steel blade with incised curvilinear and linear designs along back edge (one side only); deer antler hilt with inset tufts of goat’s hair and pendant human hair. Length 70 cm. (b) Scabbard: carved wood with carved and incised bone ornaments; encircling rattan bands in natural and red-dyed rattan; plaited rattan waist strap; pendant human hair. Used in warfare; also hewing down jungle undergrowth, cutting rattans and bamboos, and the rough shaping of wooden implements.
