Comment:
Per labels provided by Ira Jacknis: Navajo man at a night chant (Yeibichai). Totso Trading Post, Lukachukai, Arizona; December 13-21, 1963. The Night Chant is one of the many Navajo curing ceremonies. Given for an individual patient, these rituals are intended to restore cosmic and personal harmony. A singer (or medicine man) supervises the ritual action, which usually takes place during each night of an extended period, typically nine days.
