- Boat model; outrigger sailing canoe, wood. a) hull, 100 cm. l, 16 cm. w.; cross pieces lashed and nailed to gunwales; outside painted red and black. b) detached wood cross piece 4 x 13 cm. c) triangular fabric sail. 84 cm at base, 7.5 cm w. at point, 95 cm. h,.; sticks, lashed w/ cord and sewn along sides of sail; with one small stick. d) mast, 93 cm, wood pole w/ top piece lashed on w/ cord. e and f) identical prow and stern ca. 28 cm l. i cm w., each with double pointed ends, painted red and black and f. w. inset piece glued on . g) detached inset piece for e. h) women’s cabin, 12 cm x 20 cm. ; Pandanus-covered wood and wood slatted rectangle; all lashed with cord onto two 28 cm. dowels (one is detached i) detached dowel 28 cm. j)wood cigar shaped piece, painted red and black, circumference 19.5 cm, l. 42 cm. k) trapezoidal shaped wooden piece w/ red and black painted triangles, 44 cm l. xx 11 cm. l) detached wood edge painted red and black, 24.5 cm x 2 cm. m) reed surface lashed w/ cord to frame of 2 dowels (one damaged) lashed to 4 “Y” shaped pieces painted red and black (one broken) 48 cm. l. x 11.5 cm. n) fraying cord attached to painted wood yoke, 13 cm. l.
