MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Cotton: white background. Suppl. weft in red, green, and yellow cotton. Silk floss embroidery magenta, lavender and peach. Half medallions at neck in pink satin-weave cloth. Half medallions in magenta silk cloth. CONTEXT OF USE: Ceremonial or cofradía huipil, one of 27 huipiles from Sacapulas. Iconography: embroidery in fan/leaf motif. Weaver's mark of a purple silk floss in stylized "W". CONSERVATION: Good. Some repair on bottom with off-white silk floss. Candle wax. Tear at armhole.
