Note from Dominic Rathbone: [With 6-20314] Pair of statuettes of naked youths. Hunt notebook transcribes inscriptions; says they were found in rooms in temple complex. Hunt dates them 'early Rom', then deleted 'early'. Hence Hopkins: 'a Roman knight.' More likely (late) Ptolemaic. Perhaps they even represent a Ptolemiac king- cf. Cleopatra BM exhib. cat. ill. 9 (bronze statuette of Ptol. III). JH
