- Shawl. wool, silk warp for border strip? Two-two twill, tapestry twill with interlocking wefts; fringed. Blue green ground, varicolored designs. Floral, " pine cone" motives. Jan. 1969 condition: good. Remarks: The structure of the design dates the shawl to 1820-1830, but the possibly analine purple would put it a little later. Sept. 1984 Monique Levi-Strauss. 132 inches by 56 inches.
