Three hemispheres of turmeric-dyed chalk made using sandalwood power, chalk and turmeric. Native Name and Meaning: "chandan" (chalk). Sold by vendors of religious and ritual paraphernalia, this chalk was either moistened or dissolved and then rubbed across the forehead by Hindus. Each piece approximately 3.5 cm in diameter.
