- Worn DURING war of 1872-73. The owner has been the recognized Modoc Chief from the time prior to the coming of the white man.

- Remarks: "Collection begun by Dr. Ream of Yreka; after his death purchased by Shock Brothers for $200 and combined with their collection. After death of Charles Shock in 1907 it was stored at the Shock store in Montagua, Calif. Shown to R. W. Hanna by Henry Shock in April 1927. Subsequently purchased by Mr. Hanna. Collection included relics of the Modoc War, some of which are entered in catalogue 7, because of non-Indian origin.
