MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Backstrap-loomed with cotton yarns: three singles in red, (predominant). Suppl. weft brocading in white and orange cotton singles and silk floss in purple, lavender and pink. Iconographic images are geometric, animal and human figures. CONTEXT OF USE: Tape attached to front of sash, inscribed "#25, $15." Brocading appears at ends of sash leaving the majority of sash undecorated. Patterns appear in horizontal stripes, alternating with geometric designs. Human figures appear at the top and bottom row of brocading. Warps cut and worked into five inch tassels. CONSERVATION: Base cloth is in good condition, but the brocading is VERY heavily worn in places.
