Comment:
Per labels provided by Ira Jacknis: Woman digging clams. Blunden Harbor, B.C.; 1951. The Blunden Harbour film includes a scene of clam gathering. The woman places the clams in an open weave basket, through which the water will drain. In subject and general composition, this resembles a famous Edward Curtis photograph of a woman gathering clams in Puget Sound, though Curtis's was much more romantic.
