Description:
Shawl; 2 x 2 twill weave; pieced from 5 pieces of cloth- 3 lengthwise &1 at each end. Machine stitched seams covered with embroidery; white with large black inset center; floral black and white chainstitch embroidery- black on white ground and white on black ground; embroidered patterns include grapes and leaves at each end, leaf motifs throughout, and stylized floral border along each selvage; 1 cloth selvage handseamed, 1 woven selvage; warps are grouped and tied in bundles to form decorative fringe, except for 1 cm woven strip at each selvage.
