Description:
Rug; ivory aquamarine; 2 ivory guards; large maroon rose medallion; see accompanying envelope; at one time was cut apart and put back together. The term “Serapi” refers to the town of Sarab in Azerbaijan. Rugs of the name were not made there, but in the Heriz area, and dealers used the term to refer to a grade of Heriz rug.
