4 x 5" Black and white negative of people erecting a a machan for leopard observation/hunting. Hoefler's original description: "Bhopal State, Central India. Erecting a machan for leopard. The Indian leopards proved to be just as elusive as their African cousins, and upon this particular occasion, after the most careful preparations, a large male leopard passed within a few feet of the machan without the slightest sound and all unknown to the expectant occupant." (Glassine envelope with negative reads "BHO-32 Tiger Machan.")
