Hanging, embroidered silk; teal silk satin front & orange patterned silk backing, border has black ground w/ floral design interspersed w/ various objects such as fans & swords. Main panel has 2 phoenix in flight w/ flower stem in beaks, too-1 head & cloud design & bat in background. Silk satin w/ multicolor embroidery, mostly in satin & stem stitch but also employed french knot & a bit of couching. Feng-hwang = phoenix. China att. 160 cm by 76 cm.
