4" x 5" Negative. Hoefler (center, squatting) poses with N'jemps Kidogo warriors. The central figure in the second row wears a headdress with large feathers. Various other figures wear different headdresses. All pose with shields or spears. Hoefler's original description: "Hoefler with N-jemps Kidogo warriors. When this roving war party heard that white men were in their country near Lake Baringo, they paid the Hoefler Expedition camp an unexpected visit. The manner of their entrance into camp was not meant for anyone with a weak heart, but their intentions were friendly and all ended well. This N'jemps Kidogo are allied by blood and customs with this Masai and Nandi. Near Lake Baringo in the country of the N'jemps Kidogo, a very war like tribe who have seldom come into contact with white men. Shows Hoefler with a warrior band.
