Beehive, conical; willow foundation in wickerweave covered with dried cow dung; some beeswax poured into hive upon completion; diameter at base 41 cm, height 42 cm. Native name: Kepsaye. Made by student (see paper in acquisition envelope) based on verbal description of the material and methods used on Andros. Student made this for project for Anthro 130, “Invention and Technology,” taught by Prof. Desmond Clark. These beehives are not longer made on Andros; the wooden box form has been substituted.
