MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Backstrap-loomed with cotton yarns: warp 2 singles in white (predominant) plus red. Embroidered in silk floss and wool or acrylic singles. Vegetal, bird and human-like iconography. CONTEXT OF USE: Three rows of embroidery (Arriola de Geng) done in various iconography: two of the rows of mixed images and the other row of a single kind. One bird's wing is done in a different type of fiber (bright magenta color), possibly a weaver's mark? Other design elements include the use of thin red stripes in both the warp and the weft. CONSERVATION: Overall in good condition; some dirt or stains throughout textile, possibly water or rust stains; no apparent holes or tears.
