Native name: "xumana". Remarks: "These shell beads are said to have been made only in the vicinity of Tulare lake, from a very large clam shell obtained at the ocean. They were purchased by the people living in the foothill and mountain region. The perforation was accomplished by means of a way slender deer - bone point by a very gentle twisting motion.
