MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Cotton: white background: red, yellow, green geometric weft. Silk floss embroidery in light blue, magenta, purple and yellow. CONTEXT OF USE: Ceremonial or cofradía huipil, one of 27 huipiles from Sacapulas. Iconography: Geometric woven body. Embroidery of flower/leaf motif and small insects. Neckline borders of woven silk ribbon in hot pink, light green, light yellow around half medallions of magenta satin cloth. CONSERVATION:Good. Some brown stains; candle wax; detachment of silk floss. Half medallions worn; some holes and loose weft threads.
