Etrusco-Corinthian pyxis. Description from Matteucig (1951): Pyxis; height: 8 cm; diameter: 11.2 cm. (see Matteucig's plate XIX, 4). Italo-Corinthian. Clay buff; cream slip; dark brown and violet paint. Low neck; globular body on low solid foot; handles consisting of two small perforated knobs. On neck, a brown band; on shoulder, four groups of twelve tongues; the rest, narrow and broad, brown and violet bands. No cover. For a somewhat similar example, cf.
