- Ethnobotanical sample; used for arthritis, refurnishing new blood cells, and for rheumatism; dried dark brown root. Sold as medicine. Native name: Zarzaparilla. This plant is also known as Zarzaparillada Roja. It grows throughout Latin America. It is best to collect this herb in the spring. The only part of the plant used is the root. Uses: For arthritis, refurnishing new blood cells, and for rheumatism. Dosage: Two tablespoons per liter of water. Boil for five minutes and drink before meals. See acc. envelope.
