Bird form; long necked heron (garza); carved of wood, with cavity in body like bowl of spoon, for serving tidbits (called botanas) at parties; lacquered in rayado technique. Blue, with details of neck and head, and figures around body, in black; inside of “bowl” plain red. Household decoration. Used to pass tidbits to guests at parties. Role in trade: people of Temalacacingo carve novelties of this sort and sell them in Olinala, where they are lacquered or painted. See notes in accompanying envelope
