Comment:
MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Treadle-loomed of cotton and synthetic (mylar?) yarns. Warps: 2,3 and 4 singles in red (predominant) and green. Wefts: 1,2, and 3 singles multicolored and metallic. CONTEXT OF USE: Two separate price tags attached: Outside tag says " AXX $16.00" and tag on inside says "$20.00"; woven in Totonicapán, old Toto style (Pancake). Iconography: geometric and human shapes. Wide jaspe bands alternate between human and geometric forms. These bands are separated by several stripes of various colors and widths. Panel added at waist, probably added to increase skirt length CONSERVATION: Stains throughout garment, small hole, metallic yarn wearing away and missing in many places. ]
