Huipil: Backstrap-loomed, warp-predominant plain weave. Two-faced supp. weft brocading. Five pieces joined front and back to end of weft brocade and sides by randa; other seams joined by hand stitching. End selvedges loom-finished. Head hole cut out with decorated taffeta neckpiece. Sleeve openings hemmed by hand-stitching.

MATERIALS, TECHNIQUES: Backstrap-loomed with white cotton yarn. Neckpiece of taffeta commercial cloth with two medallions. CONTEXT OF USE: Neckpiece of silk floss, purple and lavender forms appliqued points. Two medallions done in black taffeta on each shoulder. Two outside lienzos have been replaced, joined by hand-stitching. "Rayon" give shiny effect; peach dye had run (Arriola de Geng). Similar to 3-29908 in Cooper collection made in the 1970s. CONSERVATION: Good. Some dye stains, frayed at bottom edge and neck opening.
