CARVED and PAINTED WOODEN FIGURE: Praying Mantis. Body of the insect is forest green decorated on back and sides with white stippling. Dow spine is a white line from which radiate alternating red and yellow diagonal lines Legs are dark green with alternating red and white stripes ending in white stippling. Each forearm is decorated with white stippling and a red and white stripe. Tiny eyes it atop the insect’s head w every long antennae (dark green with white stripes, and tipped with yellow, are mounted just behind the insects eyes. Under body is striped red. Piece is signed “Sabina Diaz, Oaxaca” on chest.
