4" x 5" Negative. Persian boats in the Old Port of Mombasa. Hoefler's original description: "At the Old Port of Mombasa. The new port where all the modern vessels dock is called Kilindini, but in the old port are to be found these Persian dhows which are sailed many thousands of miles from the Persian Gulf at a certain time of the winds, bringing dates, rugs, spices, and many beautiful objects of art to trade for ivory and hard woods.Rear and of an Arab Dowd in the Harbor of Old Mombasa. These dowds are sailed here from the Persian Gulf at a certain time of the winds and bring dates, rugs, spices, and many odds and ends of things to trade for ivory and hard woods.
