Black and white photographic print. Udaipur, Rajputana, India. Entrance to the Jagannath Temple, Udaipur. This temple is more than 300 years old and looks it. The temple is dedicated to the God of War, but two others share its shelter, the God Daniraiji and the Goddess Luximi. Devotees are constantly entering and leaving the temple, kissing the lower step and the threshold to the sanctuary, by this act doing their part unwittingly in keeping India "The Land of Plague.
